Opportunity to organize SJRI symposium
The Faculty Steering Committee of the SJRI, in collaboration with the editors of Studies in Social Justice, invites notices of interest (NOI) from affiliated SJRI members in mounting a funded symposium in Fall 2015 around an intellectually-significant thematic/problematic, that is transdisciplinary in nature and relevant to social justice. SJRI offers: a core budget of up to $25,000; financial administration of the project; logistical support; knowledge mobilization know-how and infrastructure; and assistance with supplementary grant-writing if needed.
To apply, submit a one page NOI by Nov 15, 2014 to Maria Callaghan, SJRI Administrative Coordinator. (More info)

Introducing "SJRI Originals"
In this edition of the SJRI E-Bulletin, we offer a new opportunity to produce and share original content: “SJRI Originals” is a selection of short online articles. SJRI members and friends who would like to share their engagements with transdisciplinary social justice scholarship are invited to submit articles (500 words) to Rachel Hirsch indicating alignment with one of three possible themes:
- Experiencing Social Justice – for those that have encountered transdisciplinary social justice in action.
- Understanding Social Justice – for those who have conducted transdisciplinary social justice research.
- Pursuing Social Justice – for those who are looking to collaborate on a proposed transdisciplinary social justice project.
